Generally speaking, Water is used for snares and utility, and earth is used for defense and some spike skills. It's not a terrible build, but what are you looking for? You can play support, throw up wards, armor of earth, stand there and trident/slow the called target, but if you want to go damage, you're better off air/earth, or pure air. You don't really want to spec for damage in earth, and try to do the same in water, because you're going to be outdamaged by a spike build every time, so you'll just be a mediocre elementalist.

Air/earth can be an excellent pvp player, fire/water not so much. Air/earth combines a spell like shock or gale and aftershock for big spike, as well as the standard orb/strike/chain. They can also bring surge, but having too many exhaustion spells is dangerous, and that's better left to a pure air spike ele.

Minwanabi 's rite Air/Earth 's incredible build for PvP and PvE as well. But for PvP, better go AIr/Inspi cuz Inspi has some skills like Persistence, and whole bunch of gainning energy skills.
For PvE, u do'nt need to steal energy from foes, use Earth as Protective, Armor Earth, and Air to attack, avoid using some skills that have CAUSE EXHAUSTION, cuz that way it make ur engery regen slower than normal.
For Farming spider (Prophet Path), i choose Fire/Earth, for mission or, Air/Earth, PvP could be Air/Earth or Air/Inspi depend wat ur style play

Air/Water All the way. Mael storm the healers, and then just unload on them with air attacks
Air/Earth is also a very good build too though, it'll help keep you alive, and elementalist need any protection they can get, since we have like 2 spells that give us a tiny amount of health, and both require us to be throwing out energy like crazy.

I'm wanting to play more of a support role and going with an E/Mes using Fire/Insp/Earth. It gives me the power to self sustain while doing a bit of damage from the distance.

Air and earth work well together, Everlenting charge then stoning knockdown.
